Feast and Famine

I have always explored the relationship between food and it's impact on different cultures. Across all spectrums of wealth and poverty, food has brought forth a variety of symbolism pertaining to plentitude, power, culture, wealth, and spirituality. The idea that a famine can utterly destroy a civilization and how plentitude can make empires rise further cement the importance of eating. There are ideas of curbing the prevalence of invasive species by eating them, limiting sources during a historical siege in wartime, and the downright ostentatiousness of a grand feast enjoyed by the extremely wealthy.
